Craig gets his cheek swabbed, C gets his cheek swabbed. We wait 6 weeks for the results. We didn't worry, we pretty much knew that the results would say that Craig was the father. The letter came in the mail the week after Independence Day...Looking back on that now, it is sort of ironic. It was our last Independence from CRAZINESS Day. The letter comes in the mail and this time I wait for Craig to get home from work. I didn't want to be alone and open that letter. Our life was about to change forever. MY life was about to change. I was about to be thrust into a role I never thought I would play. Step-mother. I should also mention that I am on bed rest due to my blood pressure with A. I was 9 months pregnant and had about 2 weeks left before my due date.
Craig gets home from work and we open the letter together. It states he is 99.77999 % the father of the child in question. We both cry. He starts apologizing!!! I tell him he has NOTHING to apologize for. I am happy that he turned out to be the father. The other contestants(LOL) were not father material in my eyes. We went back to court and the child support order was entered and the visitation order. Looking back, I really think Chrissy expected Craig to sign over his rights and just pay child support, not take part in C's life. Boy was she ever wrong!
Craig went to the first visitation by himself. I didn't want to overwhelm C with everyone. It went well. He was only 19 months old. The first 3 or 4 visitations were at his home. Then she decided that we could bring him to our house for a weekend once a month. The first time was really horrible!e! C cried all the way home, and just about the entire time he was there. He was finally getting used to us and then we had to take him back home.
I don't really recall when Chrissy started acting mental. Our first Christmas with him, she wouldn't let him come. She claimed he was sick, but we found out she was going to her mother's and just didn't want to tell us. We got him the next day.
We have come to find out that if Chrissy's lips are moving, chances are she is lying! One of the first lies she told was that she was pregnant with her husband's baby. I should mention here that her husband was in prison for arson and burglary. I have called her out on so many of the lies, yet she continues. She just doesn't learn her lesson. We have been told that she has a mental problem...Ya think??
I won't bore you with anymore history. C's mother is crazy, C is the one paying the ultimate price, we have to stand by and watch what she does to him, ultimately us, because we don't have the money to hire an attorney, and the courts are on the mother's side, instead of the best interest of the child.
